Grants Manager

The Singularity Institute seeks a grants manager/writer who will diversify our funding sources by researching funding prospects, developing and maintaining funding relationships, and researching/writing grant applications.



Responsibilities:

  1. Research funding prospects and write grant applications
    • Research prospects for foundation, corporate, and government funding.
    • Write foundation, corporate, and government funding proposals and reports.
    • Write and submit grant applications for foundation, corporate, and government funding.
    • Recruit corporate sponsors for the Singularity Summit and other events.
  2. Coordination
    • Monitor status of government grants.
    • Maintain current data on programs and agency as needed for grants and reports.
    • Collaborate with Singularity Institute staff to identify budget needs.
    • Create and maintain relationships with funding contacts.
    • Provide follow-up information and documentation to donors as needed.
    • Ensure that all foundation and corporate gifts are acknowledged.
    • Set up site visits by representatives of funders as needed.
    • Provide funding information as needed to the Director of Development and the Board.
    • Maintain a master calendar of proposal and report deadlines.
    • Maintain foundation, corporate, and government funding files in a manner accessible and comprehensible to others.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • A passion for the Singularity Institute'€™s core mission
  • 3 years experience in grant research and writing at the $50,000 or above level
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Combined big picture and detail orientation
  • Motivated and energetic
  • Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications, and with internet prospect research
  • Flexible, patient, and adept at multitasking
